Biography[]
Dr. Cassian Shin, MD, FACS was an Attending Trauma Surgeon at New Amsterdam Medical Center. He is first introduced in the finale of Season 2. In the episode, he is being oriented by Dr. Helen Sharpe, MD (Chair of Oncology & Hematology; Deputy Medical Director, former), but it is clear that he is more of an arrogant surgeon. The ED was very crowded, but Dr. Shin wanted to take a shower and rest before a trauma, he wanted to save his energy for a more severe trauma.
It was quite clear throughout all of his episodes that he had a god complex. Although he got along well with his co-workers, it was quite clear that he was not a proper fit in the Emergency Department. One example of his behavior was him disrespecting Dr. Floyd Reynolds, MD, FACS (Chair of Cardiac Surgery, former) in the OR. Due to all of this, he eventually transferred to General Surgery, but stayed at New Amsterdam Medical Center.
After transferring to General Surgery, Dr. Shin's story ended almost entirely. He made one last appearance in the show's finale where he was apart of the organ recovery team for the last patient.
