Dr. Diana Flores is the Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Surgical Department at New Amsterdam Medical Center.

She is a recurring character on NBC drama series New Amsterdam. She is portrayed by Keren Lugo.

Dr. Flores was one of three attending surgeons who were the first who were hired by Dr. Reynolds to staff his new cardiothoracic surgery department.
- Out of the hires: They were three African-American women, which was hinted at by a widowed donor which was touring the hospital in S1, E3
Dr. Flores was made the Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery after Dr. Floyd Reynolds decided to move to be with his fiance Evie. After Dr. Reynolds returned, Dr. Flores decided to keep her position, so Dr. Reynolds sought other surgical administration positions, then becoming Assistant Chair of Surgery, alongside Dr. Claude Baptist.
Dr. Flores predecessors include Dr. Floyd Reynolds, who was appointed chair via. recommendation to Dr. Max Goodwin (Medical Director) by Dr. Lauren Bloom (Chair of Emergency Medicine) in S1, E1. Prior to Dr. Reynolds, Dr. Merritt was the Chair, but was terminated by Dr. Max Goodwin alongside all of his attending physicians within the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department because of over-billing in the department.
- Dr. Merritt was brought up two more times after his appearance in S1, E1. He was next mentioned by the wealthy widow when she asked about him, since he was the one who had performed her husband's first cardiac procedure. His second re-mention was when Dr. Reynolds put in a maintenance request for the nameplate on his office door, where he then used his name alongside Dr. Vijay Kapoor, M.D., at University Hospital to perform a procedure, he did so since he was not credentialed at the hospital, but Dr. Merritt was.
