Biography[]
Dr. Mark Walsh first appeared as a emergency medicine resident at New Amsterdam Medical Center in Season 1.
Dr. Walsh held the position of Chief Resident of Emergency Medicine in Season 4, during the time when Dr. Layla Shinwari, MBBS (Emergency Medicine Resident, former) began her emergency medicine residency at New Amsterdam Medical Center.
During the time when Dr. Veronica Fuentes, MD, FACS (Medical Director, former) was in charge, and Dr. Lauren Bloom (Chair of Emergency Medicine, former) quit to join Dr. Max Goodwin (Medical Director, former), Dr. Walsh was made Interim Chair of Emergency Medicine as he was the most experienced physician in the ED, even though he was a resident. While Dr. Bloom was away, he ran things well, but the ED fell to pieces when both Dr. Bloom and Casey Acosta, RN (Emergency Dept. Charge RN, former) returned.
He continued to be a smaller character for the entirety of the series, all the way until the finale.
